Mr Kenyatta said since he took office much has been achieved in terms of developments especially in Garissa which was among the historically marginalized regions in the country.

He said the residents are benefiting from projects initiated by his administration adding that key positions in the national government have been awarded to leaders from Garissa, Mandera and Wajir counties.

“Tell me which government has given North Eastern region positions of power like majority leader and three cabinet secretaries?” asked President Kenyatta.

Mr Kenyatta who was speaking in Garissa town said the opposition have no agenda for the country adding that they believe the way to ascend to power is through chaos.

Deputy President William Ruto said Kenyans have a clear choice to make between the development agenda of Jubilee or the empty rhetoric and incitement pushed by the opposition.

“They should forget excuses, stop irreducible minimums and prepare for the election, and let Kenyans decide. We are ready to continue working for Kenyans,” said the Deputy President.
