President Uhuru Kenyatta has rubished allegations by a section of opposition leaders that the Jubilee government has sidelined Muslims.
Speaking in Wajir, Uhuru said his leadership has offered equal opportunities to all Kenyans regardless of their religious affiliation, adding that he has employed Muslims in his government since taking over power in 2013.“If that was the case, then how come my Cabinet has four ministers and a number of PSs from this region? My government has brought change and development in the three counties of North Eastern,” said Uhuru, as quoted by the Standard.Uhuru also said he has initiated several projects in the region including infrastructure and water projects aimed at improving the lives of the common mwananchi. The Head of State hanked residents who had attended the rally for turning up to welcome him to Wajir as he seeks for another term in August.“I am overwhelmed by the huge turnout. It means you have agreed to work with us and form the next government,” said Uhuru. He further said his government's main mission is to ensure that all Kenyans are united for the sake of development. “Our agenda is to unite Kenyans and bring development. What my government has done in the first term in office in Wajir and other parts of the country is remarkable,” he added.
