Ahead of the October 26 repeat presidential contest, President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga are continuing to fire up their support bases in a bid to tilt the political scales in their favour.
Whereas Uhuru Kenyatta hit the ground running immediately the Supreme Court annulled his August 8 win, Raila has spent much of his time calling for reforms at the IEBC before they go for another election.
But while speaking on Monday during his campaign trail in Tharaka Nithi and Embu,Uhuru who was in company of his deputy William Ruto called on the former Prime Minister to focus much of his energy campaigning instead of fighting IEBC.
According to the duo, elections are won at the ballot and that ejection of 'errant' poll body officials will not change his (Raila's) fortunes in next month's contest.
"We are telling our competitors that elections are won on the ballot. Removal of some IEBC commissioners will not change their numbers as we are surely going to beat them again," Uhuru said.
Uhuru's sentiment comes even as NASA is expected to hold demonstrations in Nairobi today, calling for reforms at the IEBC with some top electoral body's officials targeted for removal.
