Former Constitutional Implementation Commission Chair Charles Nyachae will after all be out of government at least for five years.
After tough campaigns that saw Uhuru improve tremendously in both Kisii and Nyamira Counties, Nyachae's attempts to get elected to EALA flopped after Jubilee majority snubbed him.
Despite his name making it to Jubilee list, Nyachae failed to garner majority, a move that caused jitters among the Abagusii community.
And in the last appointments to government by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Nyachae failed to secure albeit a Principal Secretary slot.
Instead, Uhuru nominated veteran politician Chris Obure as Chief Administrative Secretary, a further indication that Nyachae will be in coldness for five years.
"He was a key Jubilee strategist and it is quite surprising that he could not make it to cabinet," says Gideon Mamboleo.
He adds: "The appointment of Chris Obure means that Uhuru may not again appoint another Kisii given that Fred Matiang'i is a Cabinet Secretary."
Until now, none of Kisii leaders has come out to speak on the latest cabinet appointments by Uhuru.
