President of the People's Republic of China XiJingpi has invited President Uhuru Kenyatta for a special leaders forum in China.
The forum is expected to take place in September.
According to State House SpokesmanManoah Esipisu, Kenyatta was among 52 African presidents invited to the Forumfor China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
"Kenya enjoys a strong partnership with China, built on the principle of win-win and mutual benefit. It is clear that Chinese investment in Kenya is unlocking infrastructure potential and theStandard Gauge Railway, the largest infrastructure investment in the country sinceindependence is the principal example of this," Esipisu said.
He maintained that the special forum would serve to strengthen the existing trade and economic partnerships between the two nations.
"The China-Africa summit offers the opportunity to review progress, and specifically for Kenya to deepen that partnership to benefit both countries," he added.
