President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again defended his October 26 presidential repeat elections victory amid petitions at the Supreme Court challenging the polls.

One of the key petitions is one filed by former Kilome MP Harun Mwau who avers that IEBC flouted the law by failing to conduct fresh presidential nominations ahead of the repeat polls.

However, in a response to the petitioner, President Kenyatta's lead counsel Fred Ngatia dismissed Mwau, asserting that IEBC conducted the fresh elections in accordance to the law.

Ngatia submitted that the only two situations that could have precipitated fresh nominations would have been during the General Election and when the office of the president becomes vacant.

"The IEBC was entitled to strictly comply with the Supreme Court ruling for public good," he said.

He urged the court to dismiss Mwau's petition, accusing him of treating the court to sideshows.

"As a constitutional mandate, I urge you to ensure governance in this country, you cannot invalidate the presidential election results," he said.
