Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday, the commentator who doubles up as an activist questioned Uhuru's silence throughout his first term, wondering why he only had to come out as he approaches his retirement.

He termed Uhuru's recent vow to lead the way in attempts to slay the corruption dragon as poor timed, saying that this should have been the time to watch corruption suspects paying for their crimes, adding that he has offended Kenyans.

''Yeye amutukosea sana. Hizi vitu angefanya katika muhula wake wa kwanza ili muhula huu uwe wa wafisadi kulipia makosa yao ili wale waliobaki waogope (he has offended Kenyans as he should have taken these measures during his first term in office),'' he said.

He also urged the President to fearlessly work towards keeping the vow and not spare his own officials involved in the same.

According to Weke, the President who has since kicked out a number of Principal Secretaries should as well deal with officers close to him and his office.

''Pia ashughulikie ofisi yake mwenyewe kwa sababau ufisadi unaanzia hapo juu (he should also go for his own officials because graft begins from up there),'' added Weke.
