Kisumu County Speaker Onyango Oloo says President Uhuru Kenyatta fears NASA principal Raila Odinga over the 'large population' the latter dictates.
Raila is set to take on on Tuesday even after the government reportedly switched off all local TV channels under unclear circumstances.
"We have just known today that there was a secret meeting at State House where the government threatened to shut down media houses that might air NASA's event," wrote Linus Kaikai, Chairperson of Editor's Guild.
And at an interview with Victoria FM, Oloo accused Uhuru of failing to won illegitimacy' and call for dialogue.
The former TNA Secretary General said: "It is clear that he (Uhuru) fears Raila no wonder he is shutting down media houses."
"Time has come for him to own illegitimacy and call for dialogue. It is now clear that most people are against him," he said.
Even with NASA's willingness to have dialogue, a defiant Uhuru has since named his cabinet, an indication of his reluctance in convening dialogue.
