The reason for Kimaiyo's dismal is being attributed to the failure of handling corruption cases at KAA.

It is said that Kimaiyo rarely chipped in to make decisions concerning matters that concern KAA.

The Kenya Aviation Workers Union has been calling for the disbandment of the authority’s board claiming that directors do not work to better the parastatl.

Chief of Defence Forces, Julius Karangi will be taking over from Kimaiyo according to President Uhuru Kenyatta who made the shuffle.

Karangi has been appointed as the executive chairperson of the Kenya Airports Authority and will begin work on June 24, 2016.

Kimaiyo got the position of the KAA chairman after resigning as Inspector of Police boss bowing to the pressure that was mounting at the time due to various terrorist attacks that had failed to be controlled.

Other appointments include; Angeline Yiamiton Siparo as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the National AIDs Control Council for a period of three years, Noah Katana Ngala as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya National Library Board for a period of three years, and former Bumula MP Bifwoli Wakoli, who will be taking the place of the late Soita Shitanda, as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Agricultural Development Corporation Board for a period of three years with effect June 24, 2016.
