The Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) has been disbanded with immediate effect over unstructured communication and a series of gaffes.
The affected directors are: Dennis Itumbi, who was in charge of the Digital and Diaspora Communications Director, Munyori Buku, who was the Senior Director Public Communications, Eric Ng’eno, who headed the Messaging docket at the Presidency and James Kinyua, who was in charge of Branding and Events Directorate at PSCU.
Itumbi, Buku, Ng'eno and Kinyua have also been denied access to State House.
State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu has however been retained as the head of communications.
The memo that sent the four directors home was signed by the deputy Head of Public Service Nzioka Waita on behalf of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
President Kenyatta jetted back into the country on Wednesday evening from Botswana and is expected to address the issue further.
