Although he may have just limited himself to diplomatic lines, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday warned his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni against continued interference in Migingo Islands.
Located in Lake Victoria, the tiny Island has been a matter of contention between Kenya and Uganda for over six years now with both claiming its ownership.
And a daring Uhuru warned that Kenyan will not condone continued harassment of her citizen within her territories adding that he won’t hesitate to defend it.
“Let them know that the fact I do not talk much, I know what I am doing. Even a newborn kid Knows where Migingo belongs,” Uhuru said during a rally at Mbita.
He added: “He knows that Migingo is in Kenya and I do not need to remind him. Our soldiers are doing patrols and I am sure all is well.”
Understandably, the two leaders have not been in good terms with the construction of a major Pipeline from Mombasa to Kampala being on the centre stage.
At his infantry stages as President Kenyatta borrowed a lot from his neighbor before their relationship hit a new low.
