At Safari Park, Ruto openly apologised to Raila for persistent attacks including during the fiery 2017 campaigns.

"I want to apologise to Kalonzo Musyoka and my brother Raila Odinga. We may have collided but it is time to unite."

Both Raila and Ruto are embroiled in a vicious battle over constitutional amendments which the former says must take place.

And in Jacaranda, Uhuru however accused his DP of scuttling the unity deal albeit indirectly adding that the handshake is unbreakable.

"Some people are criticising me for talking to Raila. Raila is a Kenyan and I have a right to talk to anyone who aims the country prosper," he said.

Ruto's allies led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen have been accusing Raila of allegedly hijacking the handshake for his own benefits.
