President Uhuru Kenyatta and the First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta have flown to the United Kingdom to attend the 3rd London Conference on Somalia.

The forum is aimed at fast-tracking the progress of security reforms in Somalia as well as build on international response to the ongoing drought and humanitarian disaster.

An agreement on the new international partnership needed to keep the Horn of Africa nation on course for increased peace and prosperity is expected to be reached during the summit.

After the conference, the Head of State will travel to Beijing, China, to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

The two were seen off by Deputy President William Ruto, Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe, National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale and Energy CS Charles Keter.
