Speaking during an interview on NTV on Wednesday night, the ODM senator criticized Uhuru's speech to the joint sitting saying it was too brief.

Orengo, who led NASA lawyers during the presidential petition at the Supreme court said the president insisted on opening Parliament following a push by wrong advisers.

"Uhuru is a president in incumbency hence his limited speech in the assembly. He has limited powers as dictated by law and the Constitution,"  he said

He urged Uhuru's advisers not to mislead him with advises that leaves him confused most of the time.

"Uhuru should know that when addressing the public he wears two hats, of the head of state and government which he forgets most of the time", said Orengo.

MPs allied to NASA boycotted the opening of the 12th Parliament on grounds that Uhuru had no powers to address the legislators.

The MPs have vowed to skip sitings until presidential elections are held on October, 17 to determine who will be the next president.
