President Uhuru Kenyatta has marked the August 31 date as the day the 12th parliament will have its first meeting.
According to the gazette on Thursday, the main Parliament building is set to be the venue with the meeting set to take place at
2.30pm in the National Assembly Chamber.
The arrangements were made following the release of the full MP and MCA list with those nominated to be mentioned later in the gazette as well.
According to the constitution, President Kenyatta is required to gazette the summons of the National Assembly and Senate gathering by September 8.
One of the first issues that will be on the MP's agenda will be the election of a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker.
According to Article 126 (2) of the constitution: "Whenever a new House is elected, the President, by notice in the Kenya Gazette, shall appoint the place and date for the first sitting of the new House, which shall be not more than thirty days after the election."
