The family of Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Cornelius Korir was left with something to smile about after President Uhuru Kenyatta pledged to fulfill Bishop's vision.
Speaking during burial mass for Bishop Korir at Eldoret Sports club on Saturday, Augustine Korir, brother to Bishop Korir reminded the president of a promise he had made concerning the construction of a girls school at bishops rural area of Segutiet in Bomet county.
"Bishop Korir builds many schools and in return, he had asked the government to help construct a girl's secondary school at Segutieit which your excellency you promised to do. We are here to remind you that we are still waiting for that promise to be fulfilled," said Bishop Korir's brother.
When the President stood to speak he forgot to respond to the matter but luckily he remembered before the end of mass and had to go back to the podium where he announced that Sh20 million would be set aside for the construction of the school.
"The school has already been registered and sh20 million will be availed for its construction in honor of Bishop Korir," Kenyatta said.
Bishop Korir was born 67 years ago in Segutiet village in Bomet county.
