President Uhuru Kenyatta has yet again been subjected to criticism by a section of Gusii leaders over what they termed as ‘negative’ attitude towards Chief Justice David Maraga.

Although he has substantially reduced his jibes on the head of judiciary, his deputy, William Ruto accused Maraga of being as NASA supporter.

But a section of Gusii leaders led by Timothy Bosire have come out in strong defense of the CJ adding that they will launch a campaign in solidarity with the embattled Chief Justice.

“His speech was very clear and there is no confusion at all. Just respect the judiciary or we join him in defending the rule of law,” said ODM Treasurer.

“Change must take place for the good of our society and the time is now. Maraga has set the pace and if they try to intimidate him, we shall stand firmly with him,” he said, adding that any negative target on the CJ will be met by the wrath of people.

Despite urging the opposition to launch their complaints in the Supreme Court, Jubilee administration has given a host of judges’ sleepless nights for the negative ruling.

Among those who came into defense of Maraga include Janet Ong'era, Ben Momanyi and Kemosi Mogaka.

Should Uhuru’s supporters continue intimidating the judiciary, they said, parallel demonstrations will be held across the country in solidarity with the judiciary.
