On Monday President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee brigade stormed Kisii county in a bid to pocket the over 500,000 votes that political pundits have predicted as "swing".
The visit came with a packet of goodies with the president ordering for the creation of a new district in the county with barely 6 days to the polls.
However, the president seemed to have overlooked the issue of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who are yet to receive their compensations months after the president released funds to oversee the same.
According to political pundits, Kenyatta could have lost massive political points for failing to address the matter that has since been suspended following the said claims.
Incidentally, about a month ago some 4,000 IDPs from Kisii and Nyamira county staged demonstrations in Kisii County and vowed not to participate in the August 8 polls should the government continue with the compensation exercise on grounds that masqueraders were the ones benefitting.
