That President Uhuru Kenyatta is talking about impeaching Raila Odinga if he wins the October 17 election is a clear indication he has sensed defeat, Musalia Mudavadi has said.
Mudavadi, a National Super Alliance (Nasa) principal, said Uhuru had sensed defeat ahead of the fresh presidential election.
The Amani National Congress leader was speaking in Kibera, Nairobi County on Tuesday during the opposition’s rally.
On Monday, while meeting Ukambani and Luhya leaders at State House, Uhuru said, “Even if he (Raila) is elected we have the opportunity in Parliament within two or three months to impeach him,"
Mudavadi demanded answers on how electoral body IEBC used Sh40 billion in the August 8 election.
“The budget IEBC used was close to 40 billion to conduct the August 8 General Election and Chiloba is asking for another 12 billion for the repeat election. Where is the sense of accountability?” asked Mudavadi.
IEBC has been criticised over the elections budget, especially after it emerged that Sh848 million was used to buy satellite phones which were never used in results transmission.
