Opposition leader Raila Odinga claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s habit of unnecessarily mentioning his name in political campaigns as a sign of conceding defeat.
The two leaders have been embroiled in public spat in recent weeks with Kenyatta urging Odinga to retire from active politics.
In a renewed attack on the president, Raila who was on a tour in Western region on Saturday, said the Kenyatta had failed to government the country.
“My brother Uhuru has conceded defeat already and our task in now to extend the margin by voting in numbers. His tone is that of concession,” Odinga said.
“You cannot go to every political forum and always mention someone who is not even in power. He has sensed defeat and I just want him to hand over power peacefully in 2017,” he said.
Odinga also seized the opportunity to poke holes on Jubilee administration by accusing Kenyatta of overseeing a corrupt regime.
