Uhuru, during his tour in Ukambani, asked the former vice president to leave National Super Alliance (NASA) to join Jubilee. Kalonzo’s has, however, laughed off at the suggestion of the president terming it comical.

"It is comical for Uhuru and Ruto to ask me to join them as they march towards Opposition trenches, for that is surely where they will be after NASA takes over power," he said, as quoted by the Star.

The lawmaker said the remarks of the President are a clear indicator that Jubilee has sensed defeat.

"Such utterances reflect the state of panic and utter desperation on the part of the President and DP," Kalonzo said.

He also said that the two leaders are striving to woo the residents   of his backyard to back their re-election because they are aware they have done nothing.

"They are trying, too late, to curry favours with a completely disgusted electorate who have already made up their minds to reject the extremely inept, blatantly corrupt and shamelessly tribal Jubilee regime on August 8."
