President Uhuru Kenyatta will be attending the G7 summit in Taormina, Italy, Thursday.
Kenya has been invited to the 43rd Group of Seven (G7) meeting alongside other three African states, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Tunisia.
During the conference, Uhuru is expected to give a speech.
“The president has been invited to speak specifically on the timeliness and challenges brought about by innovation as a factor of innovation growth and development on the African continent,” State House Spokesperson, Manoah Esipisu said, Sunday.
“This is a massive recognition of the strides that Kenya is making and has made in the technology area for which we are now a recognised leader,” Esipisu added.
The summit whose theme is, “Building the Foundations of Renewed Trust” and will run from May 26 to 27.
G7 includes Germany, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy France and the United States.
