President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday conducted an impromptu inspection of the construction progress of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).

A statement from the PSCU said Uhuru overflew the SGR line from Mombasa to Nairobi, stopping at Mtito Andei passenger station and Konza signal station.

President Kenyatta said the project is firmly on track and will be completed on time and on the budget in June next year.

At Mtito Andei, Uhuru addressed residents and workers, thanking them for the efforts they are putting to get the SGR delivered on time.
