Retired President Mwai Kibaki could have delivered much to Kenyans if he did not share power with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.
Raila's 'stubbornness', President Kenyatta said, denied Kibaki 'peace' needed to concentrate on building the country.
"I respect Raila but you understand that if it were not for his stubbornness during the 'nusu-mkate' government, the country would be very far," he said on Tuesday addressing a campaign rally at Kiriti Stadium in Nyeri County.
The Jubilee Party candidate added: "If Kibaki was allowed to work after winning 2007 polls, the country would have undergone serious changes. We wasted the five years that Raila was part of the grand coalition government."
He urged residents to vote for him in large numbers to ensure he prevails over the NASA presidential candidate with a huge margin.
"In my four years, I have initiated very many development projects which can be felt by Kenyans across the country. Please, on August 8 do not allow me to share power with him," Uhuru said.
