President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on his supporters in Central Kenya to register massively to hand Cord leader Raila Odinga a resounding defeat in August 8 polls.
The President said that the former Prime Minister will not complain of stolen victory if he is defeated by a wide margin. Noting the opposition made claims of rigging in 2013, Uhuru said mass listing was the only way to avoid a repeat of the allegations.
“Last time they said they were not defeated but they are well aware we floored them. This time we have to win by the highest margin," Uhuru said on Thursday during a public rally at Gatanga, Murang'a County.
He added: “We humbly and kindly plead with you to come out in large numbers and register as voters because your votes are the weapons that will guarantee the Jubilee government victory, so that it can complete its development agenda."
At the same time, the Head of State assured residents and aspirants that Jubilee Party will conduct free and fair nominations, insisting he has no preferred candidate.
“Nobody should lie that I have sent them. All aspirants should seek votes by selling their agenda peacefully, without insults or confrontations. I’m ready to work with those who will be elected by Kenyans,” said Uhuru.
