President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday fired warning to Western Kenya residents maintaining that they are at liberty to reelect him or not.

In 2013, Uhuru lost to Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi in the vote rich region and could barely scare 20 percent in the four counties.

And in vote hunt at Ikolomani, Uhuru said he would not force Kenyans from the vast region to elect him by reminding them that they did not vote him.

“I am quite honest that you never voted for me in 2013. I am not desperate to get votes and that is a reality,” said Uhuru.

He added: “But I know since I have come this time around, you will consider me although I am not forcing anyone to vote.”

Both Mudavadi and Odinga have since merged and the matrix could still deny Kenyatta a chance to win the heart of Western people.

But a resilient Kenyatta said he would continue traversing the region hoping that things could tilt to his favour ahead of August.
