President Uhuru Kenyatta maintains that being president is not a matter of life and death and adds that he will bolt out of office if he loses.

With only two months to elections, Uhuru is facing a stiff resistance from opposition outfit NASA under the leadership of Raila Odinga.

And at Eldoret town on Saturday, Uhuru urged Kenyans to maintain peace ahead of elections for the sake of prosperity.

“I would rather embrace peace than being president. This is not a matter of life and death and its time as politicians we embrace that.

“Kenyans will make a decision and whoever wins; we must accept and move on. This is a democracy and I will not hesitate to respect the decision of people,” said Kenyatta.

Kenyatta was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto alongside a host of other Jubilee politicians from the vote rich Rift Valley.

Despite a rift between a host of independent candidates and Jubilee nominees, Kenyatta snubbed the debate and instead focused on rallying for his reelection agenda.
