Uhuru insisted that his administration is yearning to do more to ensure the country makes huge strides in the market economy to uplift life of millions of Kenyans.

In his New Year speech, Uhuru outlined the government’s extraordinary record in the infrastructure, health and education sectors which he said has created more job opportunities for young people.

“Fellow Kenyans, I am proud of my administration’s record. By August I know it will be clear to most Kenyans that we have managed to do more than any previous administration and more than many countries with a comparable profile,” he said.

”Like you, I am impatient to do more to be able to do other projects that need to be done. I am sure we shall do a lot in future because I know you will grant me the second term,” he added.

Uhuru is facing a resurgent opposition under the stewardship of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who has been critical of the government in recent months.
