President Uhuru Kenyatta says he is not desperate for coastal Kenya votes to cement his re-election adding that he would be voted from all regions across the country.

A number of leaders from the region led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho have been leading onslaught against Jubilee administration.

But on Sunday at Tononoka, an agitated president said he was only concerned with improving the welfare of Kenyans from all regions.

“I hear some people saying that I will not score in August from here. I want to tell them that it is not a must I win in Coast to be president,” Uhuru said.

Mr. Kenyatta added: “I will reach all parts of the country and continue with my development agenda. I do not have to necessarily answer my opponents. Kenyans will decide at the right time.”

He urged coastal residents to vote Jubilee party, insisting that it was determined to bring peace and development in the country.

The Head of State has taken the battle for 2017 in regions traditionally perceived to be opposition strongholds.
