A furious president Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday said he does not need votes from Ukambani to win presidency.
Uhuru was campaigning in Wote in Makueni County, a region perceived to be an opposition stronghold due to influence of Kalonzo Musyoka.
In a swipe directed to Musyoka, Uhuru warned that the region may stay in cold for another five years since he was confident of a victory.
“I don’t need your votes to win an election because I have already won,” a furious Uhuru told protestors in his Makueni rally.
He added” Kenyans have decided that it is Jubilee and it’s your decision to join them. The good thing is that I have already beaten them based on statistics.
Although it’s not clear the kind of statistics the President was referring to, pollsters however show a close contest between him and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
In 2013, the Ukambani team voted for Raila Odinga overwhelmingly due to the influence of Mr Musyoka, who still remains Raila Odinga’s running mate.
