Embattled Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino can now breath a sigh of relief after President Uhuru Kenyatta buried hatchet with him.
In February, a furious Owino accused Uhuru of meddling with his election petition case which he lost on grounds of violent campaigns.
"I am fighting a big war. It is Uhuru and William Ruto fighting me and I want to assure them that I will defeat them even tomorrow," he said.
But since the unlikely handshake between Uhuru and Owino's political father, Raila Odinga, the youthful MP has always shown remorse over his fight with the president.
At Jacaranda on Wednesday, Uhuru insisted that he does not have issues with Owino adding that he is focused on uniting the country.
"I respect all Kenyans and I don't have issues with anyone. I am working with all leaders including Babu Owino. I respect him as your leader," Uhuru told a cheering crowd.
Early this month, the two leaders shook hands in parliament when the president addressed the nation.
During the electioneering period, Owino had dismissed Uhuru as 'test tube' president adding that he would never recognise him.
