President Uhuru Kenyatta says he will only cede power should electoral body conduct free, fair, transparent and credible elections.
In a week’s time, Kenyans are expected to choose next crop of leaders who will take mantle for the next five years.
And at Gusii stadium, Uhuru said he will cede power should he lose in a transparent manner adding that power is not a matter of life and death.
“Power is given by people and if they decide that they want to make change, you cannot intimidate them,” he said amid cheering from his enthusiast supporters.
“As long as we have free, fair and credible elections, I will not have a reason to cling to power. It is people who will make a decision,” he added.
Uhuru is facing a stiff competition from ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is trying his forth and perhaps the last attempt on presidency.
In most of his campaigns, Odinga has been accusing Jubilee of plotting to rig elections by working in cohort with Jubilee administration.
