President Uhuru Kenyatta says he will be forced to recruit opposition leader Raila Odinga to cabinet given his recent scathing attacks on education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

On Tuesday, Odinga claimed that the acting Interior CS is plotting to rig August elections in favour of Uhuru, a move he termed as primitive.

But in a quick rejoinder, wondered whey Odinga was persistent in attacking someone who was not interested in presidency.

“He keeps on attacking my officers who are not even interested in elections. He has narrowed himself to that level and that makes me to be concerned.

“I will not fail to recruit him to cabinet after August because that is what he wants. This will be actually a good road to his retire from politics,” said Uhuru at Taveta.

According to Odinga, the influential minister had summoned IEBC top officials who he instructed to work with government to deliver the elections.

Despite serving in the ministry, Matiang’i is Uhuru’s chief campaigner in the vote rich Gusii region and has hosted him a couple of times.
