President Uhuru Kenyatta has for the first made a public statement regarding the chaotic Jubilee nominations.
Speaking at State House Nairobi on Saturday, Uhuru said that his party was prepared for the primaries but the huge voter turnout was the reason behind the hitches experienced.
He stated the high voter turnout made him a proud leader of Jubilee.
“I’m proud to be leader of a party that can have this kind of a turnout,” he said.
President Uhuru reiterated that the party leadership does not favour any candidate during the primaries as purpoted by some quarters.
Jubilee party was forced to cancel all it nomination excersise after the process was marred with violence.
A new date for the nomination is yet to be announced.
