This country is bigger than anyone of us. I have said it severally that if the will of the people is that another should be given the opportunity to serve Kenyans, I am ready to ensure that there will be a peaceful transition," said Uhuru. He, however, exuded confidence that Kenyans will give him another five-year mandate to complete 'the good work' he has been doing in the past four and half years."My hope and belief is that Kenyans will endeavor to give me another opportunity to complete the good work that we have started together to build a strong economy, to create opportunities for our young people, to create hope for the 45 million of us and to create a peaceful, harmonious and united Kenya that all of us share and that all can prosper from," added Kenyatta. The President also assured the country that elections will be peaceful noting that many security measures have been put in place to avert violence that may arise before, during and after August 8 polls.
