President Uhuru Kenyatta is ready to mediate between Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and Peter Kenneth to help resolve who between them should fly Jubilee Party gubernatorial flag in Nairobi county.

Speaking to Citizen TV on Monday, Uhuru said that he was willing to play the role of an independent arbiter to help the duo resolve their differences.

This comes hot on the heels of Sonko's declaration on Sunday during a live TV interview that he will never support Peter Kenneth at whatever cost.

"I am willing to mediate between the two so that we can have one candidate going to the nominations. However, if mediation proves difficult then I have no preferred candidate and the decision will have to be made at the ballot during the primaries," said Uhuru.

Uhuru further added that he was also willing to mediate between aspirants in other counties who may be in need of his assistance."Our desire just like our rivals is to win the Nairobi gubernatorial seat. That is why am willing to mediate between rival aspirants going for the same seat by Jubilee ticket because we would like to head to April 8 poll as a united force," added the President.Asked on some of Sonko utterances where he said that some figures were trying to push him to step down for PK, Uhuru was quick to say that Sonko was the best placed to answer to all that he said during the Citizen TV interview on Sunday.
