President Uhuru Kenyatta's statement on Kisii Governor James Ongwae and his Nyamira counterpart John Nyangarama has landed him in trouble with Kisumu County boss Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o now accusing him of blackmailing the two leaders.
During his address when he met members of the Kisii community in Nakuru ion Wednesday, Uhuru reportedly said that he will ensure that the courts nullify the re-election of Ongwae and Nyangarama.
Jubilee Governor race losers in Kisii and Nyamira have filed petitions challenging the election of the two ODM governors.
But while speaking in Kisumu shortly after Uhuru's statement, Prof. Nyong'o dismissed the President's statement even as he accused him of blackmail.
"During his address to Abagusii leaders at State House Nakuru today (Wednesday) he vowed to ensure the Jubilee candidates who filed petitions against Governors Ongwae and Nyangarama win. This depicted the President as having no respect for the rule of law," said the former Kisumu Senator.
Jubilee's candidate Chris Obure lost to Governor Ongwae in Kisii while Walter Nyambati lost to Governor Nyangarama in the neighboring Nyamira County.
