Principals and head teachers of public school in areas affected by drought have been ordered not to send away students due to school fees balances.
President Uhuru Kenyata said it was unfair for the heads of learning institutions to send learners home yet they are unable to raise money due to the ongoing drought menace.
He further added that all children should be treated equally.
“All our children must be accorded the same opportunity to continue with their studies and it is illegal for any principal or head teacher to send them home because of lack of school fees during this drought period,” Kenyatta stated.
Uhuru was speaking in Kilifi, accompanied by his Deputy William Ruto.
Kenyatta also urged residents to vote for Jubilee Party in the upcoming August polls.
