The meeting comes few days to Uhuru’s anticipated tour in the region on August 9 that will last for four days according to Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.

Jubilee government has been making inroads into the region which overwhelmingly voted for opposition Cord in 2013 with the President and his Deputy William Ruto visiting the region on more than seven occasions since being elected.

Confirming the Thursday’s planned breakfast meeting at State House, Kisii County Assembly Majority Whip Henry Moracha said it was welcome as long as it only confined its self in discussing development.

“It’s true that I have received a note inviting me to State House tomorrow but I hope we are going to discuss the development and not politics because we are drawn from various parties that have different ideologies,” he said in a Whatsapp group.

“It’s true that the President has invited us for a breakfast meeting and I confirm my attendance. I am not yet aware of the agenda,” added Mr Jason Mogusu of Nyamira.

However, by the time of going to the press, neither speaker Joash Nyamoko of Nyamira or Kerosi Ondieki of Kisii could confirm the planned breakfast meeting since there could neither respond to calls nor text messages.
