Central Organization of Trade Unions Secretary General Francis Atwoli has once again called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to meet and dialogue.
Speaking during a funeral service in Western, the general said the two agreeing to meet was the only way the country would recover and deal from the current political ‘fight’
“We must embrace dialogue. Let them meet. Because one is ready to carry the bible, and the other has the guns, the government; everything, he will say let us burn the country, the same way that it has happened to Syria,” he said as quoted by NTV.
He further urged president Kenyatta to quickly setup his full cabinet, saying the delay to name the whole team has caused panic within his current cabinet, and consequently affected their delivery to the Kenyan people.
“If the cabinet takes him three weeks to set up, he is a weak leader, Uhuru is a weak leader. He should not exhibit his weakness by delaying to name the cabinet,” he added.
President Kenyatta named his first batch of the cabinet last week, and is expected to release the second list of names anytime.
The list however drew criticism from different quarters, with women and the youth in particular lamenting over ‘being left out’ of his team.
