Former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama now claims that president Uhuru Kenyatta is not ready for repeat election scheduled for next month.
Muthama claims that Jubilee MPs plot to amend the election laws is a clear indication that president Uhuru is afraid of facing off with NASA leader Raila Odinga.
According to the former senatorial lawmaker, Jubilee has sensed defeat and is looking for loopholes to alter the repeat poll in their favor.
Muthama said that NASA will not entertain or accept any attempts to alter election laws.
“Jubilee should know that their attempts to introduce new election laws or alter existing ones will hit a snag because we (opposition) are alert and will not give them space,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
Muthama asked President Kenyatta to prepare to hand over power because he will not win in repeat presidential election.
The former senator said that NASA has the numbers to win the repeat election.
Jubilee MPs have revealed plans to amend a section of the election laws before the repeat presidential election.
The law makers say that they will use their umber in the National Assembly and the senate to have the laws amended.
This comes as NASA is pushing for removal of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials who it claims are responsible for the bungled August 8 presidential election.
On Tuesday NASA supporters will stage peaceful protests outside the Anniversary Towers where IEBC offices are located in efforts to push Chiloba and others out of the commission.
NASA says that it will only participate in the repeat presidential election slated for October 26 only if Chiloba and others exit office.
