President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s rivalry has been hitting headlines for the past four years.

The differences between the Governor and President have overshadowed the projects the State unveiled in the region, which seems to favour Joho politically.

Everyone is now talking about how Uhuru told Joho to stop following him as if he is his wife instead of the Mtongwe Ferry relaunch, title deeds issued in Lamu and other goodies.

Uhuru has become like a player who scores and makes his fans happy for 89 minutes only for him to cancel the lead with an own goal.

The Head of State had mastered the art of “Wacha wameze mate sisi tukikula mate” until recently when he started waging a war of words against governors.

The Commander in Chief of the Armed forces started with Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok before turning his tantrums to Joho. I am tempted to remind the President that he is the President and Joho is a governor.

Uhuru has made Joho to appear like the leader of the opposition.  It looks like Uhuru has become more scared of Joho than Raila, which is something that is making him more popular.

Residents of Mombasa have been lamenting about different issues. It does not take further education to see that Mombasa is not doing well in terms of the economy.

President Uhuru is in a better position to win the hearts of the residents than Joho because of his position.  As Uhuru keeps mentioning the name of Joho almost everywhere he goes, the electorate is not sleeping.
