NASA leader Raila Odinga has sensationally claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta wants and his Jubilee team wants to be a life president.
Odinga says kenyatta’s administration is plotting to strike off the presidential term limit from the constitution, allowing him to continue ruling the country.
Speaking during a NASA rally in Embakasi on Sunday, the team further accused the administration of plotting to remove the security of tenure that the judiciary judges have.
“We know what President Uhuru is planning, to be a life president. They want the Jubilee compliant judges and governors so that they can have their way. They even sponsored petitions against non-compliant governors. Uhuru is in office by fraud and not by the mandate of the people of Kenya,” said Odinga.
He further took a swipe at President Kenyatta, telling him to respect the constitution and the law, which is a requirement and not a choice.
“Kenya does not belong to you. You can’t be a leader without the mandate of the people. The kind of anger you are exhibiting against government institutions means nothing. You cannot scare Kenyans by that kind of rage. If anything, Kenyans are more aggrieved than you because you attempted to steal their will,” he said.
This comes amid demands forwarded by the NASA team, insisting that there will be no polls if the said demands are not met.
