President Uhuru Kenyatta has no moral authority to make more promises to the country having failed in the 2013 election promises.
Nairobi ODM senatorial candidate Edwin Sifuna has said that it makes no sense for Uhuru to make fresh promises when has not fulfilled the previous ones.
"The question I am asking is whether the President has any moral authority to make new promises when he hasn't delivered on the promises he made in the last election," Sifuna told NTV on Sunday evening during an interview.
Sifuna also termed the Jubilee and Nasa quarrel of free secondary education promise where President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused Raila of 'copy-pasting' his manifesto.
"Does it really matter who said it first? There are serious matters we need to deal with in this country. The President is just being petty," added Sifuna.
Jubilee has promised free secondary education starting January next year while Nasa has said the same will be free starting September, a month after elections.
However, Uhuru speaking in Nakuru on Sunday told Raila to stop dreaming.
"I would like to tell my brother Raila that you don't just go and sleep and when you wake up you just say that you are going to do something.
"As Jubilee government we know why we are saying free secondary education shall be free from January. Some shools need some expansion to accommodate big numbers that shall come as a result of this move and we have set aside Sh5 billion for that," said Uhuru.
