Charles Geni now says President Uhuru Kenyatta is the most unpopular president in the history of Kenya adding that he should avoid seeking re-election.
Notably, Kenyatta’s government has been marred with nepotism, corruption and tribalism claims with perennial industrial strikes taking centre stage.
A visibly irritated president on Tuesday expressed his dissatisfaction with doctors’ union leaders; calling for stiff actions should they fail to honour the government’s offer.
And the North Mugirango MP said the president should avoid public embarrassment by withdrawing his re-election bid.
“He is the most unpopular president in the history of Kenya. Nepotism, corruption and tribalism have taken center stage.
“He should do us a favour by withdrawing his candidature. Kenyans will express their anger on him on the ballot that would render him a first term president,” said Mr. Geni, a staunch ODM member in a function at his constituency on Tuesday.
Despite public criticism, President Kenyatta has persistently urged Kenyans to vote his government based on development initiated in the past four years.
He is facing a stiff competition from a united opposition under the umbrella of National Super Alliance.
