President Uhuru Kenyatta has told the people of Narok to stay firm in Jubilee since the government has prioritized to solve issues affecting them.
Speaking at the Narok Stadium, President Kenyatta said the Jubilee Government has undertaken unprecedented development initiatives in Narok.
He called on residents to reject attempts by leading opposition figures to set the communities against each other.
The President announced that the Government has waived all Agricultural Finance Corporation loans owed by wheat farmers and livestock owners in the county.
He also issued 10,000 title deeds as part of the Government’s initiative to empower Kenyans to own their land.
“We have waived all loans owed by wheat farmers and livestock owners. Go back to the farms and produce enough wheat for us,” said the President.
The President urged residents to turn out in large numbers to vote for Jubilee candidates at all levels from President to MCA.
“Give us another term to finish the good work we have started,” said the President as he spoke at a fully packed stadium.
President Kenyatta slammed opposition leader Raila Odinga for trying to use all means to cause a political crisis to advance his personal interest.
“I get surprised when I hear someone saying when he is elected as President he will ensure everybody goes back to where they were born. Is where you live not your home?” the President asked.
President Kenyatta, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto and other Jubilee leaders, said the change the opposition leader keeps on talking about is not on development but rather a retrogressive change which would cause suffering to all Kenyans.
“We will never again walk that road, every Kenyan has a right to live and acquire property anywhere in the Republic of Kenya. It doesn’t matter whether you are a Maasai, Kalenjin, Kikuyu, Luo or Kamba. No matter your tribe, you have a right to live together with others peaceful as brothers and sisters here in Narok County,” said President Kenyatta.
The President urged Kenyans to re-elect the Jubilee team so as to continue with the transformative agenda for the nation.
“For the first time in history, we are building a modern railway passing through Narok, from next year we will offer free day secondary school from form one to form four, we waived exam fees for standard eight and form four, we are offering free maternity to all mothers and much more. This is the work we want to continue with,” said President Kenyatta.
The President called on Kenyans to ignore the opposition, saying its aim is to incite Kenyans to violence, which is unacceptable.
“Do you want us to be taken back by this person who incited Kenyans into burning schools, houses and looting?” the President asked.
The President arrived in Narok after launching two major roads to open up Narok County. The first road that will be upgraded to bitumen standard runs from Ololunga to the densely populated Olmekenyu. The second road runs from Kisiriri to Mau Narok in Nakuru County.
Deputy President William Ruto said the Jubilee government has funded the construction of 300 kilometers of road in the last four years.
He said the Jubilee Government has increased the number of homes with electricity connections from 17,000 in 2013 to 52,000 now.
He said the government has also upgraded two hospitals in the county to the tune of hundreds of millions of shillings, bring medical services closer to the people.
Governor Samuel Tunai said the people of Narok appreciate the Jubilee Government’s initiative.
“We have seen things that we have not seen in 54 years” said Tunai. “We thank you for the construction of the Kisiriri-Mau Narok road and the waiver of the loans owed by wheat farmers,” said the Governor.
The rally was also addressed by other local leaders.
