President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday issued 2,441 title deeds in Lamu County during his four-day tour of the Coast region.
The President’s tour comes at a time when both his government and opposition are seeking for the region’s support ahead of the August polls.Speaking at Witu in Lamu on Thursday, President Kenyatta said his government is committed to transforming the lives of Kenyans, urging residents to back his re-election in a bid to give him time to complete what he has started. The Head of State urged residents not to vote for leaders using abusive language."The Jubilee government is ready to continue with its development agenda instead of mere stories. I urge you to avoid leaders out to use abusive language and divide you. They have eyes but they can't see. They have ears but can't hear," he said, as quoted by Nation. He took a swipe at the National Super Alliance (NASA) top leadership, accusing them of lacking an agenda on how to change the nation. The President said his track record beats what Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga, Moses Wetang'ula and Musalia Mudavadi did when they served in different positions in the past regimes.Uhuru called upon leaders in the county to cross over to Jubilee so as to enjoy the fruits of development.“Our objective is development and not just talk. What I want from Lamu leaders especially governor Timamy and his people is for you to join Jubilee so that we can walk together in development,” said Uhuru.
