President Uhuru has hailed the work done by the Jubilee administration in the past four years it has been in power saying there is only room for improvement in 2017.
The president, during his New Year speech on Sunday, said that he was honoured to serve Kenyans as their president.
"Our main agenda is to complete the work that we already started with great energy and to ensure that this nation can continue to raise in the world. It remains the greatest privilege of my life to serve as the president and Commander in Chief of The Armed Forces," he said.
He hailed Kenya for its relentless effort in the fight against terrorism and for being able to strengthen its democracy over the years.
He also applauded the rate at which the Kenyan government was able to implement the devolution programme.
"Kenya is unique in Africa and the world for being a country that can fight global terrorism, for strengthening our democracy and for having taken undertaken devolution faster and more comprehensively that almost any country that has undertaken it in the last century," he said.
