Social media was on Friday awash with news of a young woman who came out with claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta was her father.
Questions immediately arose about the woman, with Kenyans divided on whether the claims were authentic.
She walked the streets of Yaya Centre with a banner reading:
"Meet Tamara Risheel Unknown President Uhuru Kenyatta's daughter. My high dream is to meet my daddy in person for the first time. I love my daddy."
Kenyans dug into the profile of the woman and shared information about her, and some of the information mills were ready to peddle more than the truth.
Here is what we know about her:
1. As it stands, President Uhuru Kenyatta has not taken responsibility of the 'daughter'. In the silence, he has neither denied nor accepted being the father.
2. The woman bears no physical resemblance to the president. If we take the African means of identifying kinship ties, the young woman scores poorly.
3. The girl was immediately arrested on Friday. Her offense is not yet known.
4. She was taken to an undisclosed police station for interrogation.
5. Her name is Tamara Risheel.
6. Details of her early life are not clear. It is not known who her mother is and whether they had any close relations with the president.
