President Uhuru Kenyatta has congratulated Chief Justice David Maraga on his decision to publish new rules of procedure for cases of corruption and economic crimes.
In a statement to newsrooms, State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said the new rules make it clear that those who misuse or misappropriate public money will be held accountable faster.
“As always the President stands ready to give Chief Justice Maraga, and the entire Judiciary, his full support in enforcing these new regulations, and, more broadly, in ensuring the war on corruption is won,” read the statement in part.
Esipisu said the president expects other agencies that play a role in the fight against corruption to borrow a leaf from CJ Maraga and take responsibility for their part in the fight against graft, so that it is won once and for all.
